Varley Group is one of the Hunter's oldest and most advanced engineering companies.

Founded in 1886 as a small plumbing and boiler-making business by George Henry Varley, we have expanded from a humble tin workshop on King St, Newcastle into a multi-national, wholly Australian-owned company.

Facilities in Australia include:

  • Tomago (Headquarters)
  • Carrington
  • Melbourne
  • Sydney
  • Brisbane
  • Gosford
  • Ballarat
  • Perth

In addition, the Varley Group National Service Network extends to over 80 sites around Australia, with major hubs in Adelaide, Katherine, Darwin, Mackay and Townsville.

Furthermore, since 2004 Varley Group has been growing abroad with facilities in Indonesia (Jakarta and Tangerang) and the United States of America (Washington DC, Lexington Park and San Diego).

Despite our global expansion, Varley Group remains Australian to the core and will remain dedicated to further advancing our national engineering and manufacturing industries for many years to come.

30 Years for Dave Aitchison

Dave (far right) surrounded by friends and family at today's presentation ceremony.

All at Varley wish to send sincere congratulations to Dave Aitchison on reaching a remarkable 30 years of service with the company.

Dave is an integral member of the Varley team and has been part of our ongoing growth throughout the past three decades, especially in the power services and PT Varley Indonesia projects.

A company man through and through, Dave continues to go the extra mile to and perform to the highest standard to this day, and everyone at Varley thanks him for his ongoing efforts.

Dave was joined by family and colleagues during a morning tea ceremony held in his honour today, which included a gift and certificate presentation by Jeff Phillips in recognition of Dave's milestone achievement.

'Mr Aitch' in his earlier Varley years.
