Last Friday 13 November marked the close of this year’s HunterNet Future Leaders Program, with a gala dinner and awards night taking place at Newcastle’s Harbourview Function Centre.
The Program, conducted over a 6 month period by HunterNet, offers Hunter business personnel with a collaborative learning environment in which they can learn new and valuable skills in order to further their future business prospects. Ultimately, HunterNet aims to shape the future of commerce in the Hunter region by better equipping up-and-coming business leaders with the support, guidance and knowledge required to be a successful leader.
Varley Group had 2 participants in this year’s program – Nick Percy (Engineering Manager) and Ian Craig (Business Systems Coordinator). Following 10 fortnightly sessions of leadership development sessions, Nick and Ian both collaborated with other Hunter business individuals as part of separate teams, each of whom worked on a real life business project with real significance for the Hunter’s future.
Reflecting upon his experience in the Program, Nick states that it was ‘a great experience’ and that he acquired some ‘great connections and new knowledge’. Ian coupled this with the comment that the Program was ‘certainly an experience’ and that he ‘learnt some great things with some great people’.
Congratulations from all at Varley to Nick and Ian on their remarkable achievements, and our thanks to HunterNet for providing such a successful and beneficial experience.
