Varley Group is proud to announce that we will serve as industry contributors to the Federal Government’s innovative new ‘P-TECH’ initiative.
P-TECH aims to ensure that the youth of Australia are entering the labour market with the STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) skills and knowledge required to succeed at work. The scheme provides a framework for effective cross-sector collaboration and enables industry to be actively involved in supporting young people’s careers.
The initiative will benefit students and industries nationwide; Varley’s contribution will occur among Hunter-based students seeking further skills and understanding of the aerospace industry, and will be coupled with participation by other local businesses.
In a ceremony held earlier today at Hunter River High School in Raymond Terrace, Senator the Hon Simon Birmingham (pictured, fifth from left) announced the P-TECH initiative alongside representatives from participating educational and business organisations, including Varley Group’s Managing Director, Jeff Phillips (second from left) and HRHS Principal, Deb Dibley (centre).
Varley Group is honoured to participate in the upcoming P-TECH scheme and thanks Senator Birmingham, the Federal Government and all participating educational and corporate organisations for the chance to be a part of this outstanding initiative. We look forward to aiding the development of our future STEM leaders and professionals.
